Nikhil Rajkotia
From the support he received at Beauchamp City to now studying Medicine and Surgery at the University of Birmingham, Nikhil has turned his early ambition into real progress.Nikhill’s ambition to become a doctor was clear early on, and his time at Beauchamp City Sixth Form gave him the support and opportunities to make that dream a reality. The welcoming environment, dedicated teachers, and tailored guidance helped him build confidence and prepare for the challenges of university and beyond.
His favourite subjects were Biology and Maths—foundations that remain central to his studies today. Nikhill thrived in group activities and presentations, which strengthened his communication skills, and he received personalised support from the SEND coordinator during times when his health condition affected his learning.
The Sixth Form also introduced him to valuable opportunities, including the Realising Opportunities programme, which continues to benefit him at university. These experiences gave him a strong academic base and the resilience to overcome obstacles.
After leaving Sixth Form, Nikhill began studying Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Birmingham, where he is now in his third year. The transition to university was challenging at first, requiring him to adapt to independent living and a more intense workload. Over time, he developed new skills in organisation, presentation, and essay writing—turning early weaknesses into strengths.
Nikhill’s journey reflects determination and growth. The support and encouragement he received at Beauchamp City Sixth Form gave him the confidence and skills to take the next step toward his dream of becoming a doctor.
