Maryam’s passion for science, strengthened by the support and leadership opportunities at Beauchamp City, has led her to pursue Medicine and thrive as a medical student.At Beauchamp City Sixth Form, Maryam developed the confidence and skills that helped her take the next step toward a career in medicine. The academic support and leadership opportunities offered at Beauchamp City helped prepare her for university and beyond.
Maryam’s favourite subjects at school were Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and these have shaped her future as she is now studying Medicine. During Sixth Form, she was part of the Student Leadership Team, attending weekly meetings and giving talks that built her communication and presentation skills. This experience helped her grow in confidence and overcome challenges that once felt daunting.
The guidance provided during her time at Beauchamp City Sixth form helped with university decisions, ensuring Maryam had the support she needed to pursue her ambitions. After leaving Sixth Form, she began her medical degree and is now in her second year. Alongside her studies, she has worked as part of a surgery reception team, gaining valuable experience in a healthcare setting.
Maryam is passionate about sharing her journey as a first-generation medical student and hopes to inspire others to follow their goals. Her time at Beauchamp City Sixth Form gave her the foundation to succeed—and that support continues to shape her future.
