Abdul Sattar
Former Beauchamp City student Abdul is now studying Medicine at Aston University, building on the confidence and support he gained at school. The academic support and opportunities that Abdul discovered at Beauchamp City Sixth Form helped him pursue his dream of studying medicine. With dedicated teachers and tailored guidance, Beauchamp City gave him the confidence and skills to take the next step toward a career in healthcare.
Abdul’s favourite subjects were Biology and Chemistry, and his fascination with how the human body works naturally led him toward medicine. “I loved understanding how things worked, especially human behaviour,” he says. “Looking back, those subjects shaped my career choice and gave me a strong foundation for what I’m studying now.”
Reflecting on his time at Beauchamp City, Abdul credits the school for preparing him for the future. “The teachers not only helped me achieve the grades I needed but also gave me opportunities like mock interviews and extra guidance. That support made me feel confident about applying to medicine.”
After Sixth Form, Abdul took a gap year and worked as an Infection Preventionist at Leicester Royal Infirmary, where he contributed to key projects and even set records within the team. Soon after, he began studying Medicine at Aston University, where he has excelled academically, reaching the top of his year.
Alongside his studies, Abdul has built a significant social media presence, achieving over a million views in just a few weeks, signing brand deals, and being featured in news articles. “Balancing this with my degree has been challenging but rewarding,” he explains. “It’s allowed me to inspire others while pursuing my passion for medicine.”
Looking ahead, Abdul plans to continue developing his platform and launch projects like FreeMed, aimed at helping students from all backgrounds access medicine. He also hopes to join medical foundations that allow him to support people locally and globally.
